It'd be great if we could have an option to exclude a section from the word count of the scene/chapter, the same way we can exclude it from AI.

Sections are awesome for notes to self, or playing with options for the beats/prose, etc. But having all those included in the word count makes it hard to get a true sense of story length/shape/pacing. (It also almost gives me a heart attack every time I see Chapter 18 has 12,029 words or whatever)

I guess this functionality could be folded into any of the other requests about having a "notes" feature. Anything that provides a place/way to write text that's tied to a specific scene, with the ability to exclude it from the word count, would do the trick.

I'd love this - when you've got prose in sections, the ability to exclude it from the overall word count. It throws out my mental planning when I've got 3 times more words in in a chapter than I'll actually end up using.
