A search-and-REPLACE option in Codex so we can change the names of characters / objects / locations universally across multiple entries with one click. It would save a lot of time instead of manually updating each separate Codex entry.

The idea of agentic editing is - the LLM can do things for you like updating codex entries, saving snippets, creating/rearranging acts/chapters/scenes etc. The biggest hole in the AI authoring experience right now is: In the writing pane, you can ask it to generate text but you cannot hold a conversation about the text being generated and provide feedback on what needs improvement. You can sort of simulate it by doing 'tweak and generate' with 'rephrase', but that's very one-shot and doesn't contain context of previous iterations and feedback you already gave. In chat mode, you can have a conversation, but the LLM can't directly write to your novel or codex. You can copy/paste back and forth, but it's clumsy. Main scenarios: Brainstorm with the LLM and have it automatically update codex entries (including showing diffs and asking for confirmation) Workshop a scene with the LLM, where both you and the llm make edits in the 'write' window, and you can have a frank conversation about what you like/dislike and what you want improved. Best if the LLM can have context on things like where the cursor currently is, text that's currently selected, etc. As a result of having such a frank conversation, having the ability to say something like - "Ok, extract the principles/stylistic preferences I've expressed here and save as notes in my style guide".

I would love the ability to edit chats like in chatgpt and playground. I find that I sometimes don't like the answers i'm getting and have to start the entire chat in another window. it would be great to just edit the chat.

When using text replacement prompts, it would be nice if a redline/diff was generated (highlighting new additions in eg. green and crossing out removals). There are JS libraries that can do a good job of this.

This is my very well-missed feature from when I used Scrivener: Snapshots (that can be labeled/titled) to look back at previous versions of drafts. Like before you edited it or cut text. It would be nice to compare the edited version with the original/previous drafts, see all the changes, and have the option to roll back some of them and keep others. I've tried using revision history but since I'm unable to label those they get lost quickly in the log as edits are made.

Having to click on the link in the narrative to open the pop-up, then open the codex entry from the pop-up (as the pop-up is difficult to see without resizing), then click again to pin that entry to the side panel, and only getting one item pinned there is a lot of clickout of of flow state writing. I suggest a dynamic codex side panel, where any codex entries that appear in the viewable portion of the screen automatically appear in the right (or left) side panel, not the full entries, but a version of it that shows the important content and lets you click into parent/child relation entries directly inside the side panel. The group of codex entries should be scrollable so if there are 5-10 items on the viewable screen, then they all cascade down the side panel in the order they appear in the text. Could limit it to the general paragraph or area where the cursor is, but I would argue that if I'm wrigin about certain codex contepts or characers or locations, I would like to see that content quickly and immediately on the side to reference.

I would love a view that shows Chapters and Scenes (horizontal/vertical and vice versa) so I can get a grid like plotting view that shows all scenes per chapter on a grid. Either an alternate view in the Grid or a Matrix view that just shows the chapters by scenes. Great for visual story plotting. The Grid view is counter intuitive for my brain. Thanks!

It would be great to incorporate a better hierarchal folder system for the codex where I can see things like parent and child relationships nested and other views of my codex to be able to quickly filter down to specific categories or parents or children to bulk edit or examine relationships.

Maybe in the far future, but something that keeps track of your time working on a project. Could have a start and stop at the top of the page near the logo and when started it tracks what you are working on how many words you have written There are other features that could be included with a timer such as challenges you are apart of like NaNoWriMo and goals. Like I said, far future, but could be nice.

While starting to use Snippets and the Tinker area, it seems to me that this will eventually contain quite a variety of different items. It could be useful to have a Tag system here, as well as the ability to sort/filter by them.
