+1 .This would simplify things tremendously.

I agree with this in both directions. I could use this when planning a story top-down (which I do for my more serious projects) and to keep track of stories that I write in a more discovery-heavy style. Since there is a prompt to generate beats from scenes, I feel like it would just be consequently correct to have the same at higher hierarchic levels.

I'd also want this for AI Rollup reasons. As it is right now, scene level summaries add up over time in the context, and I'd like to be able to eventually just send over a chapter level summary with less detail than the scene level summaries as I get further along in the book.

I would love a chapter summary. It would be fine if it was simply all the scene summaries for a given chapter pulled into one.

I have found a need for this too, before the chapter has been split into scenes. One way to address this may be to have a special scene that is marked as 'do not include' in novel. A dedicated label may solve this too.

I would also like this. Labeling scenes could also solve this problem. Titling titling the first scene Chapter Summary, but this feature isn't available either.
