Place to write notes in chapters.

Different from summaries, this option would allow writers to make notes about a chapter. For example, indicating the location of a scene before the name of the place is introduced. Writers could also add any notes about things to consider in the specific chapter. Future revisions, connections to other chapters, characters, locations, and/or anything else.

I actually made a custom folder that's called notes. And it's part of the framework system in the same area where you keep your plot and your timeline and all that stuff for the book before you actually start writing it?
I have the capability of making chapter by chapter documents to go into that folder. And then I can decide whether or not the AI ignores it or was it the AI uses it.
I've also been known to put notes in the simpet document area. And if I don't want to know and I put it in the little secret hidden thing to where the AI doesn't pick up on it.

Jacinth Lark, excellent ideas for places to leave notes. I was thinking of a dashboard type feature, similar to Campfire Write where an author can make notes about the whole book, chapters or whatever. Links for characters, locations, objects, etc... would also be great to see in the dashboard feature. novelcrafter did an excellent job of linking things from the codex. One must do this task manually in Campfire. The dashboard feature in novelcrafter (or whatever it could be called) should also include that linking feature for things mentioned in the codex.
I want a place where I can write notes to myself about the entire story, an individual chapter, character, ploplot linetline, location, etc...
It would be easier if I could find my notes all in one place, instead of hunting through chapters to find them. I might think of something about chapter three while I'm in chapter fifteen. If I could write that note in a central location it would be much easier to find later.

Here is an example of a central place for writing and reviewing book or series notes.

You can use "sections" in the write tab to place your scene related notes, and label them so they are not visible to ai. You can even pick a color, like sticky notes.

In conjunction with "Notes available everywhere", I'd love to be able to go to a quick "Notes only" view of stuff that has notes. Notes are were I put all the just STUFF that is about a character or other item. Often I'll have stuff about one character that's actually in the notes of another character, but unless I remember a searchable word in that note that reminds me, I can't find it. So something that just displays all the notes at one time would make notes even more valuable for storing stuff.

This is an excellent idea. Currently, I have created a POV "character" named NOTE and select Exclude from AI Context when creating a "scene" with chapter notes in it. Sort of works.

Harlequin Gazelle
I was surprised a note section on the scene/chapter was not already in place. There seems to be a note section on items in the codex. It needs to be similar. a place to make quick notes that doesn't influence future ai prose. it could be placed just under the chapter summary box.

Yes! I have been hoping for this feature!

And I would love the option to toggle them on or off in plan view, as well as seeing them in write view.

Notes ignored by AI, with an option to ignore for export, would be awesome.
Especially for editing a draft, make note, move on....
Initially using a / Scene Beat for notes, but affect AI interaction (context.previousScene.lastWords), they cannot be excluded by AI.
Then tried / add section, because of option Excluded by AI........ but they get exported which impacts Autocrit & PWA...

I was thinking about this today. I would think it would a great idea. That way you could have things in notes and not create so many labels to keep track of things in chapters or scene.
