when having a chat with tinker. the ability to delete it message would be appreciated. this is really useful when having a lengthy chat with tinker and i want to ask something else but still have the context of what we have chat about.
Really usefull when i have a typo or the ai misunderstood what i meant. also this would help to save on token.

You can actually delete your chats in tinker or in the chat area as it's now called.
Open your chat window Find the chat you want to delete, Hit the little three buttons on the right side it drops down a menu and it gives you the option of either archiving or deleting the chat.

Issue with Persistent Messages Violating Policies in TinkerChat Affecting Chat ContinuityDescription:
I've encountered a recurring issue in TinkerChat where messages that violate ChatGPT policies cause a permanent block to further communication within the same chat thread. When a message is flagged for violating policies, an error is displayed, which is expected behavior. However, the problematic message remains in the chat history and is continuously sent to ChatGPT in subsequent requests. This results in a situation where no further messages can be processed in that chat thread, effectively locking me out of continuing the conversation.
This issue is particularly disruptive as it not only halts the current dialogue but also renders the entire chat thread unusable for any future interactions. This is despite the relevance and necessity of the conversation's context that preceded the policy-violating message.
Expected Behavior:
Upon receiving a policy violation error, users should have the ability to delete or edit the offending message. This would allow for the correction of the mistake and enable the continuation of the conversation without the need to abandon the entire chat thread.
Actual Behavior:
The chat thread becomes locked after a policy-violating message is sent, with no option to remove or edit the offending message. Subsequent messages continue to trigger the policy violation error, making it impossible to proceed with the conversation.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Engage in a conversation within TinkerChat.
- Accidentally send a message that violates ChatGPT policies.
- Observe the error response to the policy violation.
- Attempt to send another message or correct the previous message.
- Notice that the error persists, and the chat thread cannot be continued.
Impact:
This issue has led to the loss of numerous lengthy and important chat threads, as there is no way to recover or continue the conversation after a policy violation error occurs. The inability to remove or edit the problematic message severely limits the functionality and utility of TinkerChat for ongoing dialogues.
Suggested Solution:
Implement a feature that allows users to delete or edit messages that violate policies. This would provide a way to rectify mistakes and continue conversations without the need to start a new chat thread, preserving the context and relevance of the ongoing dialogue.

As "Exclusive Constrictor" said the ability to edit as well as delete- My chat history is full of GPT4 crapping all over the conversation with red flags. Would be extremely useful to be able to re-organize them manually also, if it's feasible.

I need this too very urgend. I had the case in a novel about witch trails, where the tinker answer was against the policy auf chatGPT and after that anser I couldn't send any more request in the chat without beeing bullied by the moderation and policy violation :-(

i started working on this, but needs some internal restructuring first.

spaceemotion: If you could recreate the way it works in the OpenAI Playground it would be best. Not only delete chat messages, but also to edit them. It just makes sense - let's say I like only some suggestions in a chat message and I want to leave only them then continue with the chat.

I need this, too. It is possible in the AI playground and I use this feature often. It would save tokens, too.
