Tinker Chat

I use tinker chat the same way as Armin. Anything I might do at openAI in the chat window, I can do in tinker chat.
I also will use tinker chat to rephrase, if I'm not getting what I want through the rephrase function in the write tab. I'll just copy my paragraph, bring it to Tinker chat where I am able to give more instructions on the fly regarding what type of rephrase I want.
Sometimes I will bring two paragraphs to chat and ask AI to create a transition paragraph between them.

I spend a lot of time in the Tinker/Chat window doing deep dives into characters, figuring out plot elements etc. Basically any question that occurs to me about characters/story elements etc. gets a spin in this area, as a way of getting more ideas to choose from and areas to explore.
Sure, I could do some of this in Claude or ChatGPT directly, but the advantage here is that :
a. I get to reference anything in the Codex, so I get much more relevant/informed responses, re. for example, what character A's options might be in a specific scenario
b. I can use specific prompts (including my own custom prompts using any bits of writing knowledge I have) in conjunction with preferred AI models to get to the results I want.

Xanthic Locust: I've tried that without much success. Maybe someone will do some tutorials or publish some use cases. For me it's no bueno.

Yellow green Mandrill: There's a quick intro here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xknXY1Z5aOc&list=PLYcG6eOeSC_tm4RscdstCCJh1VWmvCHAZ&index=6&ab_channel=novelcrafter
Also, the longer videos by Kate on Novelcrafter's YT channel are helpful re. seeing some basic workflows in action – though I guess everyone develops their own over time.
