A search-and-REPLACE option in Codex so we can change the names of characters / objects / locations universally across multiple entries with one click. It would save a lot of time instead of manually updating each separate Codex entry.

Why drag a new chapter from the end to the beginning? How is this a good idea? Insert the chapter where you want it. Sort of like EVERY OTHER WRITING APP OUT THERE.

This would be great to have as a Desktop App Version instead of just using a Browser. I know a true Mobile app would be a lot but a desktop app version would be fantastic. I'm on a Mac and currently I end up opening two instances of Chrome, One just for Novel Crafter in Focus Mode and the other window with various tabs up that I reference for research. It's not anything that I would already have in snippets in Novelcrafter but more in line with "I'm writing a chapter and start questioning a medical reaction or a specific type of knowledge that I don't know but would want to confirm. I keep it to separate windows because the additional tabs can be distracting (it's a quirk of mine, my issue not yours lol) however, I think an actual desktop app would be pretty handy for those that would prefer it over a browser.

I'd love to be able to enable split-screen (top/bottom windows) with two separate views in the document. Either via a button or click and drag an icon to size the windows. I often write notes in a later chapter that I want to use as beats in the chapter I'm using, or refer to other text somewhere else in the novel while I'm working on a scene. Currently, I have to swap between those views and copy/paste the text in question into the scene I'm working on and sometimes jump back and forth between them both many times. Such a feature would allow the text you're working on to remain in one window, while you used the other window to look at reference text, or notes, etc. somewhere else in the novel and delete or move or manage those other notes when complete.

A nested categories for the Codex would allow for easier and cleaner codex. I have entries for: Main Characters, Supporting Characters, Extras. I'd still love to have them under Characters category, so I can collapse them in one click, as with large codex the sheer amount of categories can blot the codex column, even when they are all collapsed.

I wanted to see if you could add the ability to connect/link the Speechify TTS API key so people like me who struggle reading printed text can highlight and playback the text. This would help in writing and rewriting as well as chats. Also it would give the writer a better idea of how their writing would sound narrated or as an audio book. Or implementation of a TTS feature. Though the Speechify TTS API is pay as you go like Openrouter AI

Have a button in the text replacement pop up list to quickly re use the same option and preset.

Current Challenge: When writing a chapter that includes lots of scenes, I frequently encounter the need to insert a new scene before the one I'm currently editing. The existing process is cumbersome; it requires me to navigate to the end of the chapter to add a new scene and then drag the empty scene back up to the desired location. Proposed Solution: To streamline this process, I suggest implementing one of the following enhancements: A) Scene Action Menu Option: Integrate an option into the scene action menu to "Add New Scene Before This". This would allow for the immediate insertion of a new scene directly before the current one. B) In-line "+ Scene" Button: Place a "+ Scene" button between existing scenes. Clicking this button would add a new scene at that specific location. Note: This request is also applicable to creating New Chapters when in "Write" mode. There is a need to be able to create a new Chapter without having to scroll to the end of an Act in the manuscript, or without having to go to Plan mode to insert a new Chapter before the current one.

Currently you either are forced to include custom detail or not. Making them basically no different from additional codex entries. Just a bit cleaner. What I'm suggesting is make it so you can toggle auto adding a custom detail easily per codex entry, not per custom detail. Additionally make it so you can actually include these custom details manually by either context button in scene beat or by writing the name of the detail after the name of the entry example: Entry named James and Custom detail named Appearance. It will be added if you write James' Appearance | James Appearance | James's Appearance
